about
I'm a random lady and I don't enjoy talking about myself constantly. This is why I hate certain social media!
There are SO MANY things that I love so I don't do lists. I am always changing!
This place is just random and I'll just post whatever here
I love doing what I believe in and not necessarily following what's popular
Programming Myself
I read about a technique in advertising called "rule of 7", or "rule of [insert number here]". The point of it is, repetition makes the potential customer more likely to buy the product, and also trains the viewers on how to think.
As my own experiment, I try to program myself using the same idea. Perhaps, if I insert the things I want to learn as advertisements while I watch a favourite show, I could end up remembering those things easily.
So far it seems to be true. The only issue is that the information remains in my memory for maybe 3-4 days, then becomes hazy. But if you think about it, advertisements are not viewed or heard for just 1 day. Those same ads are repeated to us everyday. For weeks, months. No wonder they make us into such good students.
Who knows, this could,be one way for the most hopeless learner to still memorize the most mundane facts. You can trick and brainwash yourself into becoming smarter by turning your learning into repetitive ads.
How I'm doing it
The idea is to have a main show that I am watching. It could be anything am interested in, and does not have to be serious. I have the video on my computer and slice it into shorter segments. e.g. 5 minute segments if I want ads every 5 minutes. Then I chop up videos of the topics I am learning. And using a playlist, I arrange everything. Then play it all from start to finish. I make sure to have enough ad breaks so that my information can be repeated a specific number of times by the end of the show.
update 17.11.2018
So I didn't have a show in mind, but now I want to watch Ever After High so I'll use that. It's convenient since episodes are short.

European Fashion Eras
I have become a fan of some eras in European fashion. I like:
- Rococo
- Late Victorian looks from 1875-1890
- some of the Belle Epoque styles
- the 1910s fashion
- early 1950s dresses
I also like the traditional Dirndl styles of the Germanic peoples. Not a fan of Empire/Regency style, or what most people would refer to as Jane Austen style. Pictures will be added soon
books I read this year
- Treasure Island
- Tom Sawyer
- Black Beauty
- Gulliver's Travels
- The Two Rebels
- Shane
- Such Devoted Sisters
- Rules of Encounter (reading)(added 17.11.2018)
silly stuff I'm currently doing
- learning trading on Wallstreetsurvivor (added 17.11.2018)
- thinking of making a fancy table settings game (added 17.11.2018)
- building a huge Candybar Doll collection
- thinking of sewing but not actually sewing that often
- setting up an ARG...
it will take forever
